South African Diocese of Port Elizabeth
Moves from RENEW Africa to Why Catholic?
The Diocese of Port Elizabeth, South Africa was the first to implement and complete the RENEW Africa process of parish and individual spiritual renewal through faith sharing in small Christian communities. The impact of RENEW Africa was so significant that the diocese to choose to continuing nurturing the small groups by following it with RENEW's Why Catholic? program of evangelization and faith formation. This Lent, the groups are meeting using the six-session resource, Lenten Longings.
Fr. Jerry Browne, RENEW Diocesan Coordinator and Director of the Pastoral Development Office, wrote about the transition to Why Catholic? for the February, 2012 edition of Port Elizabeth's Diocesan News.
