Why Catholic? Training Elicits Excitement

Process Rolls Into Missouri

Joplin, MO--Sr. Veronica Mendez, RCD, from RENEW International,
got participants energized concerning Why Catholic? in the small group facilitator and parish team training session held September 23, 2007, in St. Peter the Apostle Church, Joplin. Sr. Mendez is ministering in the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau to help launch the Why Catholic? evangelization/faith formation program in participating parishes. Throughout September, similar training sessions were held in various venues in southern Missouri.

Thus far, over 500 small group leaders and parish team members were trained in order to return to their home parishes to lead groups of ten to twelve. That translates into quite possibly over 5,000 to 6,000 Catholics in the diocese entering into Why Catholic? over the next several months! To see what all the buzz is about concerning Why Catholic? parishioners in the diocese can contact their local parish for details.
