RENEW Takes Lead Role Evangelizing Latino Catholics
Parishes and dioceses around the country recognize the need to reach out to the growing number of Catholics of Hispanic origin. Fr. Alejandro López-Cardinale, our coordinator of Hispanic ministry, represents RENEW as a leader dedicated to serving this burgeoning group. Fr. Alejandro, in his role as vice-president of the National Catholic Council for Hispanic Ministry, participated in the meeting of three national organizations dedicated to ministry August 26-29, 2013 in Las Vegas. Hispanic ministry leaders came together to reflect, share, think, and plan around the idea of Pastoral Hispana de Conjunto—a coordinated pastoral plan for Hispanic ministry in light of the New Evangelization.

RENEW International introduced La justicia brota de la fe: Formación en la fe y en la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia. This Spanish-language resource forms adults to be disciples for daily life, introduces Latinos to the social doctrine of the Catholic church, and makes the connection to living justly.
RENEW International also reaches many Latino Catholics through our diocesan renewal processes, LEVÁNTATE. Unamanos en Cristo and ¿Por qué ser católico?, and our pastoral resources for small Christian communities including Sedientos de Dios, Reflexiones en Adviento, Reflexiones en Cuaresma, No temas, María; and Oremos.
