Pope's election helps ARISE

Catholics are hitting the good book this fall as a new faith-sharing program begins in the Sault Ste. Marie diocese.

Gospel themes, including discipleship, charity and forgiveness, make up ARISE Together in Christ's five six-week blocks to be completed over 30 months.

“Our relationship with Christ basically needs to be renewed,” said Bishop Jean-Louis Plouffe.

“We have to be well-rooted in the Lord if we really want to make a difference – not only for ourselves, but make a difference in the life of the people, the life of the community of Sault Ste. Marie. To me, one can't go without the other.”
